About netgenius

History

netgenius was founded in 2006 by Andy Inman, an IT professional with more than 20 years industry experience across a range of commercial, technical, consulting and systems development roles.

Andy's first company, founded back in 1990, was an early pioneer of customer service and CRM software in the UK. The company grew to around twenty employees before eventually being sold to a larger competitor around 2004. Their core product Gemini was used by several hundred organisations in the UK including various "household names", and a few companies in other parts of Europe, mainly in the banking industry.

Apart from being the company founder and systems architect of Gemini, Andy personally provided consulting services for Customer Service solutions and other systems, primarily to medium-sized companies. Notably, he was contracted to design a system for a London private bank dealing with Lloyds Agency business, which allowed their clients on-line access to account balance and transaction information.

Today

Since 2002, Andy has gradually changed his focus from closed to open systems, from Windows to Linux, from C to PHP and from the Desktop to the Web. netgenius is the result - a company dedicated to using the best open source software to provide functional and economic business solutions.

We apply web technology to help streamline business processes, with the ultimate objectives of increased efficiency, increased sales and reduced costs.

Our products and services

  • Consulting, business analysis and systems design.

  • Development of PHP and MySQL based applications, typically running on top of a Drupal CMS framework.

  • Bespoke Drupal "module" design and development.

  • We also offer a few free (open source) Drupal modules.

Our own product

Code-name Axis - a unique web-based solution targeting the Language Training industry. Currently under development, Axis will go live during 2009. Initial marketing will be limited to the Spanish market (where there is a high concentration of Language Training companies) with a longer term plan of expansion throughout Europe.

Information for potential partners

If you're a company or individual active in the Drupal world, especially if UK based, we would welcome contact. Our existing network includes systems developers and visual designers, but we want to know more people!

Information for potential investors

We are not currently seeking investment, but would of course welcome contact from any potentially interested parties. Here are a few key points to note:

  • Drupal is currently attracting a lot of attention as a platform for business oriented web solutions. For example, it was recently nominated as one of three contenders for Best Business Application by LinuxWorld. Another indicator is the launch of acquia - a company specialising in commercial use of Drupal, co-founded by Drupal's original creator Dries Buytaert, and which attracted $7 million investment capital.
  • Our plan for the development of Axis and further products and services is basically the same as that which proved successful for the development of Gemini. That is, a company initially funded by income from consulting and bespoke development business, simultaneously producing its own flagship product. Another interesting though unintentional parallel is that Gemini was developed, and the company formed, during a period of significant economic difficulty, especially for IT companies - the early 90s. Businesses are always on the lookout for new solutions to reduce costs and increase efficiency, but they are especially interested when times are tough.
